THE MOTION PASSED 4~O. <br /> <br />16. Administrator's Update <br /> <br />A. Lions' . Park <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the berms are shaped and further indicated <br />that some excavating would be required in the pond as grass is growing up through <br />the ponding. The City Administrator indicated that the City's Superintendent <br />intends on doing; some seeding; in the fall. <br /> <br />B. Cable Television Franchise <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Cable Commission held a public hearing <br />on Tuesday to review the proposals from the cable companies. City Adminisitrator <br />further indicated that the Commission will make a selection and a recommendation <br />to the City Council for award. The City Administrator fyrther indicated that <br />~tappears the company to be selected will provide two-way interactive with 41 <br />channels activiated. <br /> <br />C. Meeting Schedule. <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the July 23rd City Council meeting agenda <br />will consist of conSiderEtionof Ridgewood Roads, the review of the City Audit with <br />th e.c..~'.. ty AUdito.rs.,. the sidewalk progr.a ma.1...d.... the Elk River YouthH OCk. .eY A....S...S OCia. t~.'..O n <br />The City Administrator further indicated hat the July 30th agenda will <br />consist of tbe Highway #10 public hearing the Industrial Park and the liquor <br />store. _ . __..._ . _______u <br /> <br />D. The City Administrator indicated that it was planned that there would be three <br />new services to the property owned by Mr. and Mrs. Werner at the corner of <br />Highway #169 and Main Street, and further indicated that through negotiations. <br />the engineers have agreed to put two new services with one beimg oversized; there~ <br />fore it could be divided should it be required. The City Administrator further <br />indicated that the Hagaseth property had the option of hooking up their water <br />to Main Street or to Gates Avenue and it appears they have chosen to hook into <br />the Gates Avenue waterline. Mr. John Gilbertson, engineer from Consulting Engin- <br />eers Diversified, indicated that the watermain in East Main Street will not need <br />to be replaced but various connections will need to be installed. <br /> <br />E. -1:Lean up day. <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that var~ous other cities have had a day <br />\\!hereby they were closed to the public to allow the staff to clean-up and catch <br />up with filing and various other paper work. General discussion was carried <br />on regarding the possibility of a cleanup day for the City of Elk River. <br />Councilmember Gunkel indicated that she felt it would be a good idea to allow <br />city staff to clean up filing and other general office work. Mayor Hinkle <br />indicated that he did not have a problem with establishing a city cleanup day. <br />Councilmember Schuldt indicated that he felt a cleanup day would be acceptable. <br />It was the consensus that the city staff would determine a day to be set aside for <br />a cleanup day and to notify the publicJof that day. <br />
