<br />r- <br /> <br />.16'" <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />May 7, 1984 <br />Page Nine <br /> <br /> <br />Temporary Beer License for Rotary <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Rotary has requested a temporary beer <br />license for May 18, 19 and 20th for softball tournament. The City Administrator <br />indicated that the Rotary has the required insurance for the, beer license. The <br />City Administrator further indicated that the profits from the softball tournament <br />would be used to fund an exchange student from Norway. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE A TEMPORARY 3.2 BEER LICENSE FOR THE <br />ROTARY CLUB. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED <br />3-0. <br /> <br />16 3/4. Utilities Commission <br /> <br />.17. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Duitsman indicated that the Utilities Commission wanted to meet with <br />the City Council regarding the municipal feasibilities study!, liability insurance, <br />and the means for paying for a water improvement. It was the consensus that the <br />City Council would meet with the Utilities Commission at 4:30 p.m. on May 15, 1984. <br /> <br />Computer <br /> <br />The City Clerk indicated that testing has been done on the accounts payable system <br />through the printing of checks and a check register and that the system was <br />ready for on line processing. <br /> <br />Administrator's Update <br /> <br />A. Civil Defense Warning Siren Locations <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on regarding the civil defense warning siren system <br />and the proposed location for each siren. Discussion was also carried on <br />regardi~ the reach area of each of the proposed locatio~s. The City <br />Administrator indicated that it was possible to refurbis~ the old siren for <br />approximately $1,400 to reach the trailer park and Elk H~lls. The City <br />Administrator further indicated that the $1,400 of equip~ent necessary <br />to refurbish the old siren could be used in anew siren system when the <br />Council authorized expansion of the proposed siren system. It was the <br />consensus of the City Council to proceed with the purcha~e of two sirens <br />and to wait for the expenditure of the $1,400 for the refurbishing of the <br />old siren until such time as the new sirens could be tested for reach <br />distance. <br /> <br />B. Newsletter <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the first issue of the City news- <br />letter has been sent out. <br /> <br />C. <br /> <br />Star Cities Labor Survey <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Star Cities Lapor Survey has <br />been distributed to approximtely 1,200 house holds. <br />
