Councilmemher Duitsman indicated that approxi~ately seven or eight years <br />ago, the township worked on establishing a grid systbm and at that time, the <br />township agreed to allow certain streets to remain a,s named,! even though they <br />did not match the grid system. <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on regarding how the grid sysitem work~d and how it came <br />about. Councilmember Duitsman indicated that there are othe1['iareas within the <br />City that have specific development names for streets in the! development and <br />therefore, he felt the request of Brentwood Lane should be allowed. <br /> <br />Discussion was carried on regarding the problems the post office, the fire <br />department and the police department would have by not adhering to the grid <br />system. Discussion was also carried on regarding the possib~lity of more than <br />one alpha sequence. Mr. Williams indicated that the, renaming of Brentwood Lane <br />would be associated with the Brentwood area. Mr. Williams indicated that the <br />nine digit zip code would be sufficient in helping t~e post bffice in finding <br />specific locations. <br /> <br />I <br />! <br />The City Administrator indicated that the police dep~rtment ~s not particular~y <br />concerned about one change but would be concerned if' there w~re a number of <br />changes and further indicated that the fire department does pot want any changes <br />in the established grid system. .. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt indicated that the grid system! is established specifically <br />for those that are in need of finding a particular a~dress in an emergency, <br />specifically, the police department and fire departm!ent and therefore, was against <br />any change in the street naming system. <br /> <br />General discussion was carried on regarding the numbering system and the proposed <br />911 system. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE NAME CHANGE IN THE BRENTWOOD ADDITION <br />TO BRENTWOOD LANE. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTIONi. THE MOTION PASSED <br />2-1. COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT OPPOSED. <br /> <br />15. Plude Setup License <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that Mr. David Plud,e of Plu~e's Eatery at 17291 <br />Highway #10, has requested approval of a setup license. <br /> <br />COUN€ILMEMBER DUITSMAN MOVED TO APPROVE A SETUP LICENSE FOR PAVID PLUDE OF <br />PLUDE'S EATERY. COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE.MOTION PASSED <br />3-0. <br /> <br />16. Resolution Regarding Use of FAU Funds for Street Ligihting oni Highway 1110 < <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that Resolution 84-6 is a resolution regarding <br />the use of FAU Funds to pay for street lighting along Highwa~ #10. <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE. RESOLUTION 84....;6, A RESPLUTION ALLOWING THE <br />CITY'S USE OF FAU FUNDS FOR HIGHWAY 1110 STREET LIGHT!ING IMPRpVEMENTS. COUNCIL- <br />MEMBER DUITSMAN SECONDED THE MOTION.
