Councilmember Duitsman indicated that he <br />was interested in talking to the Fire Department regarding the Fire Code. <br /> <br />B. Library Board Ordinance <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Library Board ordinance was not in- <br />cluded in the Code. The City Administrator suggested that the City Council <br />review the ordinance in a committee session prior to adoption. Councilmember <br />Gunkel indicated that she had discussed the proposed ordinance with the Librarian, <br />Mary Bender, and Ms. Bender indicated that some of the items in the ordinance <br />are actually under the jurisdiction of the Great River Regional Library Association. <br />Councilmember Gunkel also requested that the City Administrator strike the gender <br />references in the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />C. Public Official Liability Coverage <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to discuss the public official lia- <br />bility insurance in committee. <br /> <br />C. Mn/Dot Highway 1110. Improvements <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the City of Elk River has received a <br />letter from the Minnesota Department of Transportation informing the City of <br />the proposed construction project for Highway #10. The City Administrator <br />further indicated that an informational meeting is being planned to be held <br />sometime in the early part of 1983. <br /> <br />E. Cable Television <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that he had met with the attorney retained <br />by the four cities involved in the cable television process. The City Ad- <br />ministrator indicated that the attorney will draft a joint powers agreement <br />for the communities involved and will be looking at city densities, distances <br />and who will hook up. The City Administrator asked if the City Council would <br />meet with the attorney in conjunction with the other communities. It was the <br />consensus of the City Council that they only would meet with the attorney in a <br />committee session. <br /> <br />F. Snow Removal <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the City has received many complimentary <br />calls regarding the latest snowplowing procedure after the latest snowfall. <br />General discussion was carried on regarding the snowplowing and sanding pro- <br />cedures. <br /> <br />G. Star Cities Program <br /> <br />The City Administrator submitted the list of persons that have agreed to serve <br />on the Economic Development Commission. It was the consensus of the City <br />Council to get more people to serve if there were more people interested. <br />
