The City Administrator indicated he had <br />spoken with somebody from North Central Public Service and <br />they had sU9gested tha~ the people get a contact person to <br />contact North Central Public Service re9ardin9 the <br />situation. <br /> <br />Barb Kreuser questioned whether it was necessary for water <br />to 90 in with the sewer. Shes~ated she felt sewer was <br />necessary but water was not. The CitvEn9ineer stated that <br />it was not necessary that water and sewer 90 in at the same <br />time but that it would be a savin9s in the 10n9 run because <br />of having to restore the street twice. <br /> <br />Tom Eckdahl stated that at a previous meeting, some of the <br />residents had asked about putting water in at the same time <br />as sewer. <br /> <br />Vern Lundberg questioned what the requirements were for hook <br />uP. Rick Breezee stated that there was a maximum time <br />requirement of two years to hook UP to the sewer and that <br />there was no time limit for water hook UP. <br /> <br />Terrv Ber9 questioned whether there would be any DNR 9rant <br />money available. Terrv Maurer stated there was no money <br />available for this type of project. <br /> <br />Barb Kreuser questioned on how the final decision would be <br />made as to whether sewer, water or both would be goin9 in . <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle stated the Council would make the final <br />decision. <br /> <br />Councilmember Engstrom noted that he felt it totally depends <br />on what the people want and that is how he would be voting. <br /> <br />Richard Bickman questioned what other costs would be <br />involved above and beyond the assessment charge. The <br />Buildng and Zoning Administrator noted that the sewer hook- <br />UP fee would be $1,000 for interceptor and the water charge <br />is approximately $250. <br /> <br />Bonnie Gruel noted she felt somebody should pursue outside <br />funding for the project. <br /> <br />A vote was taken at this time. 7 people voted to have <br />sewer, 6 people voted to have sewer and water and 6 people <br />voted to drop the project. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gunkel stated that if any of the other systems <br />fail in the future, the people have no recouse to take. <br />
