Sewer Feasibility for area near Lion's Park

Mr. Rick Breezee indicated that concerns had surfaced relative to sewer service in
discussions for proposed development in the area of School Street and Proctor Avenue.
Mr. Breezee indicated that it is proposed to build a health club facility southwest
of that intersection, a 24 unit apartment building to the east of the intersection on
School Street and also, Mr.' Bud Houlton has indicated that he is interested in develop-
ing PUD area in the area southeast of the intersection. Mr. Breezee further indicate~/
that Mr. Darrell Mack was present to explain the potential problems that could exist.

Mr. Darrell Mack reviewed the present location of sewer lines and mains, also indicated
that he did not feel it was possible to develop the area unless some definite changes
were made.

Discussion was carried on regarding the question of a feasibility study for sewer in
the area in question and costs associated with the study.

Mr. Terry Maurer indicated that the cost of a feasibility study would not be significant
as most of the information is already available and it would just be a matter of gather-
ing that information and coming up with cost figures.

Mayor Hinkle indicated that he felt that the cost of the feasibility study should be
assessed as part of the project. as has been done in the past on other projects.

Mr. Mack indicated that if the changes he proposed were to be made, it may eliminate
the need for approximately 800 feet of sewer line proposed in the Capital Impro~ement
Plan.

COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO ORDER A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE AREA SOUTHWEST AND
SOUTHEAST OF THE INTERSECTION OF SCHOOL STREET AND PROCTOR AVENUE.
