The City Administrator indicated that it puts
the City in an awkward position, as the bid was awarded to the low bidder for the
1984 model. The City Administrator indicated that the City Council could reject
all bids and authorize rebidding of the vehicle.

General discussion was carried on regarding the bid bond, rebidding the truck,
and specifications for a one ton vehicle. Mr. Wade Turner indicated that he was
requested the City Council's consideration of some cost recovery but would rebid
the truck if the City Council chooses to reject the bids and authorize rebidding.
Mr. Wade Turner indicated that he would like to ask the Elk River Ford owner if he
would prefer to rebid the truck rather than sell the truck at the original bid price.

Councilmember Engstrom suggested that Mr. Wade Turner discuss the options with the
Elk River Ford owner and notify the City within 10 days of his decision.

COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY STAFF TO PURCHASE THE ONE TON
TRUCK AT THE ORIGINAL BID PRICE OR TO VACATE THE PURCHASE ORDER AND REBID THE UNIT.
COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0.

7. Mr. Hals in-
dicated that he is looking at two identical vehicles from Johnson Motors.

General discussion was carried on regarding the equipment the Street Department
has on hand and the dump trucks Mr. Hals was recommending that the City purchase.
Mr. Phil Hals indicated that he is interested in buying a pair of units which would
provide ease of operation and maintenance as they are identical.
