SNOWMOBILE TRAILS <br /> IPThe Snowmobile Trail Concept Plan shows the location of regional snowmobile trails <br /> related to the City of Elk River. The Master Park and Recreation Plan provides for trails <br /> that allow snowmobiles to cross Elk River and gain access to these regional trails. <br /> Snowmobile trails are usually in conflict with other trail systems, except to the extent that <br /> seasonal use can accommodate more than one activity. For safety reasons, as well as <br /> aesthetic considerations, it is recommended that snowmobiles not be allowed in areas <br /> designated for pedestrians and cross-country skiers. <br /> Snowmobiling is recognized as a legitimate recreational activity, however, it is an <br /> activity that needs to be closely regulated.
