<br />Page 2 <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />October 6. 1986 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. Art Raudio was present and stated he would like to give the Council a <br />courtesy update regarding the Viking Recreational Campground. He <br />indicated they are still waiting for permits from the MPCA. <br /> <br />Jane Titrud <br />see either <br /> <br />of Ridgewood East Subdivision stated that she would like to <br />a "Slow - Children" sign or speed bumps put up in the area. <br /> <br />Counci1member Schuldt questioned whether there was a school zone sign in <br />that area. Ms. Titrud indicated there was no such sign. <br /> <br />The Council informed Ms. Titrud that Street Superintendent. Phil Ha1s <br />would contact her regarding the signs. <br /> <br />Ms. Titrud also questioned whether weight restrictions could be put on <br />the road. The Council indicated that if this were done the school buses <br />probably would not be able to use the road. <br /> <br />Mr. Paul Medenwa1dt stated that he would like to see street lights put on <br />the corners of Jackson and Highland and also Proctor and Highland. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding whose responsibility it was to pay for the <br />street lights. The Council directed the City staff to see what the <br />policy has been in the past regarding the paying for street lights <br />requested by residents. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED THAT AN ACCOMMODATION OF BRAVERY BE GIVEN TO <br />TERRY ZERWAS FOR HIS GOOD JUDGEMENT IN THE GAS LINE CRISES AT HANDKE <br />SCHOOL. COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE SCONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br />The City Administrator stated a resolution would be drawn up to present <br />to Terry Zerwas recognizing his act of bravery and good judgement. <br /> <br />Counci1member Gunkel stated she would also like <br />recognized. She further indicated the Emergency <br />recognized for the excellent service provided. <br /> <br />the School Staff <br />Personnel should be <br /> <br />THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />5. Consideration of Proposed Use of Revenue Sharing/Public Hearing <br /> <br />The Finance Director indicated that the legislature had voted to <br />discontinue revenue sharing funds. She indicated a public hearing had <br />been advertised because the City was not sure if this would pass in the <br />legislature. She noted that since the revenue funds were discontinued, <br />no action would need to be taken except to open and close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle <br />the matter. <br /> <br />opened the public hearing. No one appeared for or against <br />Mayor Hinkle closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />e <br />
