SCHULDT SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />Street Department <br /> <br />After discussion regarding the items requested by the Street Department <br />it was determined that the sander for $1.000 would be eliminated. the <br />fork loader for $2.500 would be eliminated and one mobile radio for $750 <br />would be eliminated. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE STREET DEPARTMENT BUDGET <br />EXCLUDING THE ABOVE MENTIONED ITEMS RESULTING IN A TOTAL AMOUNT OF <br />$111.350. COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4- <br />O. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />At this time the City Administrator briefly reviewed each catagory in the <br />1987 general fund budget. He noted that in order to balance the budget <br />expenditures must be cut by $20.000. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the <br />Budget under heavy machinery. <br />back-up tanker truck. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to cut $7.000 from Council <br />Contingency. $6.500 from the Fire Department Budget and to leave the <br />remaining $6.500 to be cut from the budget in order to balance the budget <br />at the discretion of the City Administrator and Finance Director. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER ENGSTROM MOVED TO APPROVE THE GENERAL FUND CITY BUDGET AT <br />$1.445.000. COUNCILMEMBER TRALLE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED <br />4-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle explained to the Council that Dexter Mapson from the <br />Assembly of God Church had approached him regarding the City of Elk River <br />purchasing the Assembly of God Church. He stated that Mr. Mapson offered <br />the building at a total purchase price of $270.000 with $30.000 down and <br />that an agreement would be signed stating the Assembly of God would buy <br />back the building after three years at the full purchase price paid by <br />the City of Elk River. <br />
