COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT VOTED AGAINST THE MOTION. <br /> <br />10.S.Conditional Use Request by Viking Recreational Retreat to Allow Day Care <br />Facilities and a General Store/Public Hearing <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf. Building and Zoning Administrator. noted that Mr. Raudio was <br />requesting a conditional use permit to allow a day care facility and a <br />general store at the Viking Recreational Retreat Campground. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle opened the public hearing. No one appeared for or against <br />the matter. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gunkel questioned whether the day care facility would be <br />used by the employees of the Campground. The Building and Zoning <br />Administrator noted that the Planning Commission suggested that only <br />registered guests be allowed to use the day care facility. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gunkel voiced her concern that precautions be taken to <br />prevent the general store from becoming a restaUrant. <br /> <br />The City Administrator suggested adding restrictions to the conditional <br />use permit such as no microwave ovens. no gas pumps. no eating areas and <br />perhaps setting a dimensional limitation on the building. <br /> <br />Mr. Art Raudio stated that they had planned to have a snack bar in the <br />facility and further stated this was cruicial in order to compete against <br />other campgrounds. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER GUNKEL MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST TO <br />ALLOW A DAY CARE FACILITY AND GENERAL STORE IN THE CAMPGROUND WITH THE <br />FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS: <br /> <br />1. NO PREPARED FOOD BE ALLOWED IN THE GENERAL STORE. <br /> <br />2. NO EATING AREA BE PROVIDED IN THE GENERAL STORE. <br /> <br />:3. NO GAS PUMPS BE ALLOWED IN THE GENERAL STORE AREA. <br /> <br />4. THE GENERAL STORE BE OF A DIMENSION NOT TO EXCEED 500 SQUARE FEET. <br />
