Consideration of Building Inspector <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated he would like to set a salary range for <br />the Building Inspector of $20.000 to $25.000. After some discussion it <br />was the consensus of the City Council to set the salary range for the <br />Building Inspector at $9.50 to $12.00 per hour. <br /> <br />7A. Consideration of Building and Zoning Administrator Salary <br /> <br />It was the <br />Administrator <br /> <br />consensus to set the <br />at $26.500/yr. with <br /> <br />salary of the Building and Zoning <br />a review after six months. <br /> <br />8. Appointment of Assistant Weed Inspector <br /> <br />MAYOR HINKLE MOVED TO APPOINT PHIL HALS AS THE CITY'S ASSISTANT WEED <br />INSPECTOR. COUNCILMEMBER WILLIAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />Citizen's Advisory Committee <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Discussion was held on the procedure to take place at the Citizen's <br />Advisory Committee Meetings. Councilmember Gunkel indicated she felt it <br />would be a good idea for the Committee to form sub-committees. The <br />Council formed the agenda for the first meeting which is to be held on <br />February 13. 1986 at the Elk River Public Library. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding a proposal made by Dennis Carlson of <br />Community Education regarding the idea of Community Ed being a part of <br />the City of Elk River. It was the consensus of the City Council to hear <br />what Dennis Carlson had to propose regarding this matter. <br /> <br />Mayor Hinkle indicated he felt the Utilities Commission should be invited <br />to the Citizen's Advisory Committee and be made a part of this process if <br />they so wished. <br /> <br />9A. Roma Tool <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that he had completed the grant <br />application for Roma Tool and Plastics. Inc. He indicated that what Roma <br />Tool is looking at in payback of the loan is a two year deferral with a <br />ten year payback at 1% interest. The City Council indicated they had no <br />problem with the terms of the payback. <br /> <br />9B. <br /> <br />Burlington Northern Railroad <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Williams stated that he had received a phone call from a <br />Rose Allison regarding some land which Burlington Northern is abandoning. <br />He indicated that Burlington Northern was taking bids on the property and <br />indicated that Rose Allison questioned whether the City might be <br />interested in placing a bid on the property.
