She stated she is <br />very concerned about the devaluation of the propety because of the RDF <br />Plant. <br /> <br />There being no further public comment. Mayor Gunkel closed the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />The following comments were made by Council and Staff in answer to the <br />public comments: <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel stated that State law establishes the guidelines in which <br />the City Council has to act regarding the rezoning. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dobel stated that the City has more authority regarding the <br />RDF with the rezoning of the property. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />It was noted that regarding public awareness. this has been on the front <br />page of the local newspaper for two years and over 20 public hearings <br />have been held by the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Klovning stated that there has been one <br />regarding land devaluation near RDF plant. <br />study it was concluded that there were no <br />devaluation occurred within a five year study. <br />the City has not heard concerns from property <br />project. <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE <br />AMEND ING THE CITY OF ELK RIVER ZONING MAP <br />SWF-SOLID WASTE FACILITY OVERLAY DISTRICT. <br />THE MOTION.
