Economic Development Commission Interviews <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that there are three (3) vacancies on <br />the 16 member Economic Development Commission. Dick Hinkle has indicated <br />he does not desire to be reappointed; the City received no response from <br />Rob Vanvalkenburg; and just recently Hank Duitsman has indicated he would <br />accept reappointment to the Economic Development Commission. <br /> <br />The following people were interviewed by the City Council for the three <br />(3) vacant positions on the Economic Development Commission: <br /> <br />Jeff Gongoll <br />Greg Hohlen <br />Wade Turner <br />Bob Maxwell <br />Chuch Christian <br /> <br />Dr. Olson was scheduled for an interview but was not present. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Mr. John Kuester had. indicated an interest in serving on the Economic <br />Development Commission but could not be present for an interview due to a <br />previous engagement. <br /> <br />The City Council expressed their desire to interview Mr. Kuester at. or <br />prior to. the 2/2/87 City Council meeting and to make three (3) <br />appointments to the Economic Development Commission at this meeting. <br /> <br />8.1. Library Board Appointment <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPOINT ELIZABETH KREMER TO THE LIBRARY <br />BOARD FOR A THREE YEAR TERM WITH HER TERM TO EXPIRE ON 12/31/89. <br />cOUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />8.2. Official Hiring of Recording Secretary <br /> <br />cOUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED HIRE OF DANILLE MATHISON AS RECORDING <br />SECRETARY FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER WITH A STARTING WAGE OF $6.00 PER <br />HOUR AND A SIX MONTH REVIEW WITH AN INCREASE IN WAGE TO $6. SO PER HOUR IF <br />SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCE IS INDICATED. COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4- O. <br /> <br />8.3. Consideration of Gambling License for American Legion <br /> <br />Mayor Gunkel noted that the American Legion has submitted an application <br />to the Charitable Control Gambling Board for bingo and pull tabs. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the City Council to take no action to veto the <br />license. <br />
