Economic Development Commission Interviews The City Administrator indicated that there are three (3) vacancies on the 16 member Economic Development Commission. Dick Hinkle has indicated he does not desire to be reappointed; the City received no response from Rob Vanvalkenburg; and just recently Hank Duitsman has indicated he would accept reappointment to the Economic Development Commission. The following people were interviewed by the City Council for the three (3) vacant positions on the Economic Development Commission: Jeff Gongoll Greg Hohlen Wade Turner Bob Maxwell Chuch Christian Dr. Olson was scheduled for an interview but was not present. e Mr. John Kuester had. indicated an interest in serving on the Economic Development Commission but could not be present for an interview due to a previous engagement. The City Council expressed their desire to interview Mr. Kuester at. or prior to. the 2/2/87 City Council meeting and to make three (3) appointments to the Economic Development Commission at this meeting. 8.1. Library Board Appointment COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO APPOINT ELIZABETH KREMER TO THE LIBRARY BOARD FOR A THREE YEAR TERM WITH HER TERM TO EXPIRE ON 12/31/89. cOUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4-0. 8.2. Official Hiring of Recording Secretary cOUNCILMEMBER TRALLE MOVED HIRE OF DANILLE MATHISON AS RECORDING SECRETARY FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER WITH A STARTING WAGE OF $6.00 PER HOUR AND A SIX MONTH REVIEW WITH AN INCREASE IN WAGE TO $6. SO PER HOUR IF SATISFACTORY JOB PERFORMANCE IS INDICATED. COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED 4- O. 8.3. Consideration of Gambling License for American Legion Mayor Gunkel noted that the American Legion has submitted an application to the Charitable Control Gambling Board for bingo and pull tabs. e It was the consensus of the City Council to take no action to veto the license.
