She stated the neighbors had many
concerns regarding the environment of the area. With the adoption of the
Growth Management Plan, the environment and aesthetics of the area are
subject to change from what was originally planned. She indicated
another concern was that of safety. With the high traffic congestion on
Highway 169 already, the addition of commercial property will only
increase the congestion. The highway will take on the appearance of a
commercial strip and the noise will increase. Mrs. Galbrecht presented
the Council with 22 petitions showing opposition to the rezoning of
property east of Highway 169 to commercial property between Elk Hills
Drive and 197th Avenue and also expressing opposition to the proposed
multi-family residential buffer area for Deerfield Third.

Bill Brady - 19449 193rd Avenue NW

Mr. Brady referred to map number 4-A reflecting residential zones. He
indicated that he is concerned with property in zone #1 (municipal sewer
and water lots) along Proctor Avenue. He indicated this was addressed by
the Planning Commission as possibly being moved to zone #2 (2~ acres per
lot). Mr. Brady indicated that after looking at aerial photographs of
the land, he is recommending that more property to the west than was
recommended by the Planning Commission be moved into the zone 2 area. He
indicated that the land west of Proctor to the railroad tracks is of the
same topography as to the land discussed by the Planning Commission on
May 31, 1988.

Dick Cherrier

Mr. Cherrier stated the plan was a good plan and that he is in favor of
the plan.

Gene Shield - 20701 213th Ave. NW

e

Mr. Shield stated that according to the maps his land is being used for a
collector street, an open space area and an area wide park. He stated
the plan needs more study before it is approved.
