e e e Page 4 City of Elk River City Council Minutes March 13. 1989 -------------------------------------- Mr. Ron Harrington 19728 Ulysses - questioned the section of Ulysses from 200th Avenue south. He indicated that this area had been overlayed not too long ago. He questioned staff as to whether they could research and find out when this area was overlayed. He stated he did not feel it was necessary to overlay the road at this time. Vice Mayor Gene Schuldt closed the public hearing at this time. City Attorney. Tim Keane. indicated that because the projects are City initiated a 4/5 vote by the Council would be required. Due to the fact that only three members of the Council were present. Mr. Keane advised that the Council close the public hearing and take no action on the projects at this time. COUNCILMBMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO KNOLLWOOD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE COUNCILMBMBER HOLMGREN STREET IMPROVEMENTS. MOTION CARRIED 3-0. MOVED TO CLOSE THE PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE TYLER COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE Vice Mayor Gene Schuldt indicated that the Council would make a decision on these two projects at the March 20. 1989 City Council meeting to be held at the Elk River Public Library. He indicated however. that the public hearing was closed and no public input would be received at that meeting. 5.3 City Engineer Update The City Engineer indicated that he has appeared before the Elk River Utilities Commission regarding the western area sewer and water project. He indicated that he has requested the Utilities Commission to contribute funds towards the project. Mr. Maurer indicated that he has not received a reply from the Utilities Commission at this time. however. they were going to discuss it at their next meeting. Mr. Maurer updated the Council on the Main Street bridge. He indicated that he was working with the Historical Society regarding this matter and he further stated that it is their hope that the Main Street bridge will be taken off the Historical Society's list so it will not impede the western area sewer and water project. Mr. Maurer updated the Council on the Waco Street bridge north of Highway #10. He indicated he was working on a cost estimate for the replacement of this bridge. Mr. Maurer indicated to the Council that he has prepared an application on behalf of the City regarding riverbank erosion. Mr. Maurer stated that he has submitted copies of the feasibility study of the Highway 169 & 193rd utilities projects to the two property owners. He indicated that he has not had a response from the property owners at this time.
