<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />December 17, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 11 <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt stated that it would be more convenient for the <br />Chief of Police to have a car allowance rather than a police vehicle. <br />He indicated that his present family car is equipped with police radio <br />and equipment so that he can keep in contact with his officers at all <br />times. Councilmember Schuldt indicated that if the Chief were to have <br />a squad it may not be as accessible for family outings and, therefore, <br />he would not be in contact with his department at all times. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kropuenske concurred with Councilmember Schuldt and <br />stated that he felt it was necessary for the Chief to be in contact <br />with his department. He further stated he did not feel it was <br />necessary to raise the City Administrator's car allowance. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN AMENDED HIS MOTION TO ELIMINATE ANY REFERENCE TO <br />THE CAR ALLOWANCE FOR THE CHIEF OF POLICE AT THIS TIME WITH THE <br />UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS ISSUE WOULD BE DISCUSSED AT A FUTURE MEETING. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE AMENDMENT. THE AMENDMENT PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />THE MOTION AS AMENDED PASSED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.7 <br /> <br />Tiller Corooration Donation <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle stated that the Tiller Corporation operates the Barton <br />Sand & Gravel and Commercial Asphalt companies in ElkRi ver and is <br />offering a donation to the community in the amount of $500 in <br />appreciation for being able to operate within the community. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt suggested the City donate this money to the local <br />CAER organization to benefit the youth and needy during the holiday <br />season as donations are down this year. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO DONATE THE $500 TO CAER. COUNCILMEMBER <br />DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.8 Consider Payment for 1991 Police Squads <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT TO HASTINGS <br />AUTOMOTIVE INCORPORATED IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,406 FOR PAYMENT OF TWO <br />POLICE VEHICLES. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.9 Library Board and Utilities Commission Aooointments <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL MOVED TO REAPPOINT DARYL BRONNICHE AND KEN RINGSTAD <br />TO THE LIBRARY BOARD WITH THEIR TERMS EXPIRING DECEMBER 31, 1993 AND <br />FURTHER TO REAPPOINT GEORGE ZABEE TO THE UTILITIES COMMISSION WITH HIS <br />TERM TO END DECEMBER 31 , 1993. COUNCI LMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />Other Business <br /> <br />City Acquisition of Land for Park Purooses <br />
