<br />City Council Minutes <br />October 22, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 90-59, A RESOLUTION <br />REQUESTING MNDOT PARTICIPATION IN CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS ON A PORTION OF <br />TRUNK HIGHWAY 169. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Mr. John Darkenwald appeared before the City Council and requested that <br />the Council consider sending a letter of support to MnDOT regarding a <br />right on/right off on Highway 169 about 725 feet north of the center <br />line of Main Street, which is north of Pizza Hut. The City <br />Administrator indicated that this would be an appropriate time in which <br />to support this request and that the Council should also consider the <br />same request for the area near the trailer park when going North, as <br />this area may redevelop soon. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO SEND A LETTER OF SUPPORT TO THE <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SUPPORTING THE PROPOSAL BY <br />DARKENWALD AND ALSO SUPPORTING A RIGHT ON/RIGHT OFF NEAR THE TRAILER <br />PARK WHEN THIS AREA REDEVELOPS AND FURTHER THAT THE LETTER BE SENT WITH <br />RESOLUTION 90-59. COUNCJLMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.4 <br /> <br />Pay Estimates for Evans Avenue <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO APPROVE PAY ESTIMATE #1 FOR THE EVANS <br />AVENUE PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $63,976.10 TO BITUMINOUS CONSULTING AND <br />CONTRACTING, INC. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />6.5 <br /> <br />165th Avenue and Hi~hway 10 Turn Lane Update <br /> <br />The City Engineer informed the Council that the project has started and <br />will be paved and near completion by the middle of next week. He <br />indicated that the last layer of blacktop will be put down next spring. <br /> <br />6.6 ~vans Avenue Im~rovement Update <br /> <br />The City Engineer informed the Council that the project has begun and <br />completion is anticipated ~ithin a couple of weeks. <br /> <br />6.7 173rd Avenue R~ilroad Crossin~ QP-date <br /> <br />The City Engineer informed the Council that he has received an <br />agreement from MnDOT for the improvement of the railroad crossing at <br />173rd Avenue. He indicated that this agreement will be presented to <br />the Council in November. The City Engineer informed the Council that <br />the improvement will take place using State Aid Funds. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />It was recommended that the Council consider improving a portion of <br />173rd Avenue prior to the installation of the railroad crossings so <br />that once the crossings are installed the street' improvements will be <br />complete in this area. <br />
