<br />City Council Minutes <br />June 11, 1990 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />3.2 Fire Chief <br /> <br />Russ Anderson, Fire Chief, requested authorization to purchase four <br />hand held portable radios for the aerial ladder truck. He indicated <br />that the total cost of the radios and related equipment would be <br />$4,653. He further stated that this money would come from the <br />remainder of the bond referendum. <br /> <br />Mr. Anderson also stated that he is requesting authorization to <br />purchase two 10' lengths of flex hose for drafting water from dump <br />tanks to the aerial truck. He stated that the cost of the hose would <br />be $510 each with a total of $1,020 and further indicated that the <br />money would also come from the fire equipment bond balance. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO PURCHASE THE RADIOS FOR THE AERIAL <br />LADDER TRUCK AT A COST OF $4,653, AND ALSO TO PURCHASE THE TWO 10' <br />LENGTHS OF FLEX HOSE AT A COST OF $1,020 WITH THE MONEY TO COME FROM <br />THE FIRE EQUIPMENT BOND BADANCE. COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Fire Department is requesting <br />authorization for payment of equipment already received and approved by <br />the Council for the Fire Department. He indicated that the payment <br />would be made to Valley View Association and the total cost of the <br />equipment was $5,266. <br /> <br />The Fire Chief stated that the total amount of this equipment was <br />donated by the Legion and the money is in the Fire Department Reserve. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE PAYMENT TO VALLEY VIEW <br />ASSOCIATES FOR $5,266. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />4. Stephanie Klinzin~/County Mappin~ System <br /> <br />Stephanie Klinzing, County Commissioner introduced Galen Willis of <br />Sherburne County. She indicated that Mr. Willis is the head of the <br />mapping and information department of Sherburne County and that he was <br />here to provide information to the City Council regarding a GIS Mapping <br />System. Mr. Willis reviewed with the Council the process the County <br />would be taking regarding the GIS Mapping System. Stephanie Klinzing <br />indicated that the County has committed to this system and that Elk <br />River would be the first area that the County would start with. She <br />stated that the cost for the system would be 1.5 million dollars which <br />was the initial cost for the base map, survey and computer hardware and <br />software. <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the details of the mapping in regard to <br />the contour of the land. Stephanie Klinzing indicated that the City <br />would possibly have to pay for a lower flight if they would be <br />requesting greater details in the contour and indicated that it would <br />be possible to get the greater details. <br />
