Planning Commissioner Fuchs indicated that because the <br />Ci ty has no landscaping ordinance at the present time and that there <br />was nothing in the applicant's proposal, the Planning Commission <br />requested that the staff assure that landscaping does take place. <br /> <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.5 Conditional Use Permit/Elk River Printin~/P.H./CU-90-001 <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle indicated that Elk River Printing is proposing a printing <br />shop at 596 Dodge Avenue NW. Steve Rohlf, Building and Zoning <br />Administrator, referred the Council to the site map showing the <br />location of the proposal as being 596 Dodge Avenue NW. He further <br />indicated that the applicant is requesting a conditional use permit for <br />light manufacturing in the Barrington Place PUD to operate a printing <br />operation. Planning Commission Representative, Rita Johnson, indicated <br />that the Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend approval of <br />the conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle opened the public hearing. There being no one for or <br />against the matter, Mayor Tralle closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT <br />REQUESTED BY ELK RIVER PRINTING TO ALLOW A LIGHT MANUFACTURING <br />(PRINTING OPERATION) TO BE LOCATED AT 596 DODGE AVENUE NW, ELK RIVER <br />WITH THE FOLLOWING STIPULATIONS: <br /> <br />1. That the CUP for light manufacturing in this location is <br />specifically for "printing" as defined by Elk River Printing's <br />current operation. Any major expansion of Elk River Printing's <br />operation requires an additional review. <br /> <br />2. That no outside storage be allowed. <br /> <br />3. That the proposed exhaust fan for the building does not create <br />excessive noise or odor. <br /> <br />4. That Elk River Printing be allowed 75 square feet of wall signage. <br /> <br />5. If parking becomes a problem, that additional parking be added. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DOBEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.6 <br /> <br />Consider Kennel License Renewal by Spen~ler & Ma~ney <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle indicated that Jo Magney and Joe Spengler have applied for <br />a renewal of their kennel license located at 20722 York Street in Elk <br />River.
