The activities shall take place in a manner which will not <br />produce offensive conditions observable from neighboring properties. <br />Marquee means a permanent roof-like structure or canopy of rigid materials supported by and <br />extending from the facade of a building (compare Awning ). <br />Massage, therapeutic means the practice of rubbing, stroking, kneading, tamping, or rolling of the <br />body with the hands or any instrument, for the exclusive purpose of relaxation, physical fitness, or <br />beautification, and for no other purpose, by a person not licensed as a medical doctor, chiropractor, <br />osteopath, podiatrist, nurse, or physical therapist, or an assistant who works solely under the <br />direction of any of such professionals, or beauticians and barbers who confine their treatments to <br />the scalp, face, and neck. <br /> <br />Massage, therapeutic establishment means an establishment in the business of providing therapeutic <br />massage services either to the public or as a private club. <br />Massage therapist means a person who practices or performs therapeutic massage on a person for <br />compensation and meets the licensing requirements set forth in chapter 38, article VI, division 3. <br />Mechanical equipment means heating, ventilation, exhaust, air conditioning, and communication <br />units integral to and located on top of, beside, or adjacent to a building. <br />Medallion means a decorative element that is typically inlaid into the facade of a building often <br />bearing a figure in relief, a portrait, or as an ornament with a change in material. <br />Medical research, see research and development facility. <br />Metal panels means metal exterior finishes that are applied to the exterior of walls and roofs <br />which are greater than eight inches in width. <br />Metal siding means metal exterior finishes that are applied to the exterior of walls which are eight <br />inches or less in width. <br />Metes and bounds description means a description of real property which is not described by <br />reference to a lot or block shown on a map, but is described by starting at a known point and <br />describing the bearings and distances of the lines forming the boundaries of the property, or <br />delineates a fractional portion of a section, lot or area by described lines or portions thereof. <br />Microbrewery is a facility licensed under Minn. Stats. § 340A.301, subdiv. 6(c), (i), or (j) and may <br />brew no more than 20,000 barrels of its own brands of malt liquor annually. The on-site sale of malt <br />liquor is limited to off-sale only. Off-sale malt liquor shall be sold in 64-ounce growler or in 750 <br />milliliter bottles, and is limited to 500 barrels annually. Microbreweries are not permitted to sell more <br />than ten percent of their product on-site. <br />Microdistillery means a state licensed distillery producing distilled spirits with a total quantity not <br />to exceed 40,000 proof gallons in a calendar year. <br />Mineral excavation has the meaning given in section 42-31. <br />Minimum subdivision design standards means the guidelines, principles and specifications for the <br />preparation of subdivision plans indicating, among other things, the minimum and maximum <br />parameters of the various elements set forth in the plans.
