THE MOTION <br /> <br />5.2. Consider Purchase of Police Vehicles <br /> <br />Police Chief Zerwas informed the Council that the Police Department <br />received two quotes for the purchase of two 1993 police squad cars. He <br />stated that the quotes were received from Elk River Ford and Saxon <br />Motors. The Police Chief informed the Council that the lowest bid came <br />in approximately $150 higher than the State contract price. He further <br />stated that it has been Council policy to purchase locally as much as <br />possible. He requested the Council to consider the bid from Elk River <br />Ford of $13,095.50 per vehicle. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br />PURCHASE TWO 1993 FORD CROWN VICTORIAS AT $13,095.50 EACH. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />The Police Chief indicated that the Elk River Police Department has <br />received two quotes for the purchase of a 1993 four wheel drive <br />vehicle. He stated that the newly purchased vehicle will replace a <br />1987 Chevrolet Blazer with 95,000 miles. He stated that the low quote <br />was from Saxon Motors at $16,003.75. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO <br />PURCHASE A 1993 CHEVROLET S-10 BLAZER FROM SAXON MOTORS FOR A PRICE OF <br />$16,003.75. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.3. Consider Amendment to Health Care Ordinance <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator, indicated that the Health Care <br />Commission has requested some minor revisions to the Health Care <br />Delivery Commission ordinance. He stated that the major change more <br />clearly outlines the powers and duties of the Commission. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 92-30, AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 212 OF THE ELK RIVER CODE OF ORDINANCES. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION.
