Councilmember Schuldt Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt commented on the littered condition around the <br />landfill. He requested staff to contact the owners of the landfill and <br />request them to clean up the area. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt questioned whether the City Council has given <br />approval for a building which is being constructed on City property on <br />the Orono ballfields. Councilmember Dietz stated that a building <br />permit was issued, however, no Council approval was given for the <br />construction. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schuldt also indicated that there are illegal billboards <br />on Highway 169 and Highway 10. There is glittery tinsel on the <br />billboards which is not allowed in the City sign ordinance. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Refuse Appeal Board Interviews <br /> <br />The City Council interviewed the three applicants applying for two <br />positions on the Refuse Appeal Board. The applicants interviewed were <br />Cecelia Scheel, Cindy Olson and Madalyn Moos. After the <br />interviews the Council voted by written ballot. The results were <br />Cindy Olson coming in first and Madalyn Moos second. It was the <br />consensus of the Council to appoint Cindy Olson to the Refuse Appeal <br />Board for a two year term and Madalyn Moos for a one year term. <br /> <br />7. City Administrator Update <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren requested staff to consider expanding the width <br />of the boat launch at Orono Lake so that two people, side by side, <br />would be able to launch their boats at one time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren informeq the Council that <br />being solq illegally at the Alliance Church. <br />check into this matter. <br /> <br />there is black qirt <br />He requesteq staff to <br /> <br />Pat Klaers informed the Council that he would be attending a <br />Boarq meeting to request the continuation of the School Liaison <br />Officer which is on the list of School budget cuts. <br /> <br />School <br />Police <br /> <br />The City AQrninistrator informed the Council that the joint <br />Council/Utilities meeting has been changed from June 22, to June 29. <br />
