.

.

.

Elk River City Council Minutes
May 11, 1992

Page 3

The City Administrator informed the Council that the League Conference
was being held June 10 through June 12.

The City Administrator stated that although Northbound Liquor Store has
chose not to open on the Fourth of July in previous years, state law
does allows liquor stores to be open on July Fourth. Staff is
considering opening Northbound this year on the Fourth of July because
it falls on a saturday. Pat Klaers indicated that the employees of the
Northbound Liquor store are requesting holiday pay for those employees
that will be working. Councilmember Kropuenske indicated he supports
this request. He stated that his opposition was to holiday pay on the
day before or day after a holiday.

It was the consensus of the Council to operate Northbound Liquor on
July 4, and that those employees working on July 4, receive holiday
pay, identical to how the street employees are paid when they work on a
holiday.

Councilmember Dietz informed the Council that the Youth Baseball Group
will be requesting assistance from the City for a baseball complex.

8.
