Councilmember <br />Schuldt felt that the City should follow the process and that the <br />Planning Commission should review the site plan first. Councilmember <br />Dietz concurred with Councilmember Schuldt. Steve Rohlf explained that <br />the typical procedure for site plan review for Barrington Place PUD <br />requires only Planning Commission approval and no Council approval. He <br />further stated that the Barrington Square PUD Agreement is different in <br />the fact that it requires both. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO WAIVE THE COUNCIL'S AUTHORITY TO REVIEW <br />THE SITE PLAN AND REFER THE SITE PLAN TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION FOR <br />REVIEW AND A FINAL DECISION. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5.6. Vacation of a Portion of the Right-of-Way of 8th Street and All of the <br />Right-of-Way of Industrial Road by Cretex Companies/Public Hearing <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf indicated that Crete x is requesting to vacate a portion of <br />the old 8th Street and all of Industrial Road in order to expand their <br />storage in a westerly direction. <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf indicated that the area of 8th Street that runs east and <br />west was suppose to have been vacated at an earlier date. However, it <br />is uncertain as to whether the legal process was adhered to at the time <br />of the vacation as no recorded documents can be found. He stated that <br />staff is recommending that Cretex revacate 8th Street and that the <br />property be conveyed to the Cretex Companies. <br /> <br />Don Schumacher of Cretex Companies was present and indicated that the <br />map in the memo was incorrect as the portion of Meadowvale Road between <br />Proctor Avenue and Quinn Avenue was not to be included. <br /> <br />Mayor Tralle opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Robert Swag of Island View Drive indicated that the street has already <br />been moved. He suggested the possibility of planting some trees along <br />the border of the property. <br /> <br />Steve Rohlf noted that Cretex has requested <br />property back to Cretex.
