<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />January 27, 1992 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />The location of the proposed water tower Mayor Tralle <br />indicated that it was the decision of the City Council to move the <br />water tower. <br /> <br />9. <br /> <br />30 mph speed limit on County Road 30 - Mayor Tralle informed <br />residents that they should contact their county Commissioner <br />request the speed limit be lowered to 30 mph in the area. <br /> <br />the <br />and <br /> <br />Jeff Vulgar, 13131 Mississippi Road, requested more police patrol <br />for speed limit enforcement along County Road 30 during rush hour <br />times. He indicated that people are driving more than 55 mph. <br /> <br />Lee Ecklund, 18232 Albany, also indicated that people were driving <br />faster than the speed limit on County Road 30. <br /> <br />10. Alternative sites for City Hall Mayor Tralle reviewed the <br />process the City went through in choosing the City Hall site <br />location. He indicated that there was a Task Force that looked at <br />the sites and that there were 16 sites evaluated by the Task Force. <br /> <br />Larry Hickman, 16128 187th Circle, requested the Council to put <br />18 month hold on the City Hall project. He indicated that <br />City is using valuable tax dollars to locate the City Hall on <br />Orono Lake site when apartments and homes would bring <br />valuable tax dollars into the City. He indicated that the <br />will not be paying taxes on the land. <br /> <br />an <br />the <br />the <br />more <br />City <br /> <br />Debra Krochak, 18273 Denver street, indicated that <br />prefer to see the City Hall and Police Station located <br />site on Orono Lake rather than apartment buildings. <br /> <br />she would <br />at this <br /> <br />Larry Hickman stated to the Council that it was a mistake to place <br />City Hall at the proposed location. <br /> <br />Bob Dilley, 12943 Orono Road, informed the Council that he would <br />rather see the City Hall site in the downtown area. He further <br />indicated that it was the general feeling of the neighborhood to <br />locate City Hall downtown. <br /> <br />Arden Krinke, 1958 Main Street, indicated he did not like the <br />location chosen for City Hall and would rather see City Hall <br />located next to the County Government Center. He stated that the <br />proposed location is a residential area and not suitable for a <br />City Hall building. He suggested moving the City Hall along <br />Highway 10. <br /> <br />Julie Glexner, 18141 Fresno Street, informed the Council that she <br />was new to the area. She indicated that she felt the City must do <br />things together and felt that the people were upset due to their <br />lack of knowledge of what was taking place. She further indicated <br />that she did not concur with the location of the proposed City <br />Hall as there is no price that can be attached to this natural <br />land once it is developed and lost forever. <br />
