COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.5. Consider Resolutions Authorizing Issuance and Awarding the Sale of <br />General Obligation Bonds <br /> <br />Rusty Fifield of Springsted stated that General Obligation Bonds in the <br />amount of $2,350,000 were sold for the Western Area and the Westwood <br />improvement area projects. He further stated that General Obligation <br />State Aid Road Bonds for MSA eligible portions of the Western Area, <br />Main Street Bridge Replacement, Highway 169 and Main Street <br />Improvement, and Highway 169/Jackson Avenue Signalization projects were <br />sold in the amount of $1,095,000. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHULDT MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE, AWARDING SALE, PRESCRIBING <br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF $2,350,000 <br />IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES 1992 A. COUNCILMEMBER <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />92-47, A RESOLUTION <br />THE FORM AND DETAILS, <br />GENERAL OBLIGATION <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED THE <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 92-48, A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE, AWARDING SALE, PRESCRIBING THE FORM AND DETAILS <br />AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF $1,095,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION STATE <br />AID ROAD BOND SERIES 1992 B. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.6. Consider Carpet Quotes for Northbound Liquor <br /> <br />Fritz Dolejs, Northbound Liquor Store Manager, presented the Council <br />with three quotes for carpeting the Northbound Liquor Store. The two <br />low quotes from Adams Interiors and Holomek Furniture were less than <br />$300 apart. It was the City Council consensus that the City Council <br />authorize the bid to the lowest local bidder of the carpeting. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED ACCEPT THE QUOTE FOR <br />NORTHBOUND LIQUOR FROM ADAMS INTERIORS AT $6,604.80. <br />DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />RECARPETING <br />COUNCILMEMBER <br /> <br />5.7. Consider Appointments to Fire Department <br /> <br />Russ Anderson, Fire Chief, indicated that the Fire Department is <br />recommending that the City Council approve five new members to the Fire <br />Department. He stated that the hiring of the five firefighters would <br />bring the Fire Department to a full staff of 35 members. He further <br />stated that 36 applicants were interviewed for the positions. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER KROPUENSKE MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE APPOINTMENT OF STEVE <br />OLSON, STEVE GREENE, RON POCHMAN, CINDY ROELLE, AND TOM DILLON, TO THE <br />ELK RIVER FIRE DEPARTMENT. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.8. Consider City Council Representative on Wage Incentive Committee <br />
