COUNCILMEMBER <br />FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.6. Review Code of Ethics Policy <br /> <br />The City Council commended the City Attorney for his work on this <br />issue, but the Council wanted to discuss this issue at a future meeting. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO POSTPONE THIS ISSUE <br />1993. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />5-0. <br /> <br />UNTIL APRIL 19, <br />THE MOTION CARRIED <br /> <br />7.7a. Tobacco policy <br /> <br />The Council discussed the adoption of a tobacco policy for the new City <br />facility. The City Administrator indicated that the Chief of Police <br />has requested that the Police garage be designated as a smoking area. <br />Discussion was held regarding whether or not the entire City Hall <br />property should be considered a no smoking area. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO ADOPT A TOBACCO POLICY WHICH WOULD MAKE <br />THE CITY HALL AND POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDINGS TOBACCO FREE WITH THE <br />EXCEPTION OF THE POLICE GARAGE. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. councilmember Deitz opposed. <br /> <br />7.7b. Hiring of Receptionists and Clerical Employee <br /> <br />Recommendations were given to the Council by the City Clerk and a memo <br />from the Police Chief for the hiring of two receptionists and a part <br />time clerk/typist. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO HIRE DEBORAH KLECKNER AS THE CITY HALL <br />RECEPTIONIST AT A SALARY OF $7.00 PER HOUR BEGINNING TUESDAY, MARCH 23, <br />1993. COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br />5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO HIRE GERYL ROGERS AS PART TIME <br />CLERK/TYPIST AT A SALARY OF $6.00 PER HOUR BEGINNING MARCH 24, 1993. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO <br />DEPARTMENT RECEPTIONIST AT A <br />THE APPLICANT SUCCESSFULLY <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED <br /> <br />HIRE SHERRY PETERSON AS THE POLICE <br />SALARY OF $7.00 PER HOUR CONTINGENT UPON <br />PASSING BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION. <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />7.7c. Moving Company <br /> <br />The City Clerk stated that she has received four quotes to move the <br />City office to their new location. She stated that LaBelle storage and <br />moving company was the low quote and is recommending the Council <br />authorize hiring of this company. <br />
