COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5. Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this item. <br /> <br />6.1. Update on City Enqineer's 9120/94 meetinq with western area developers and <br />property owners reaardina storm drainage <br /> <br />City Engineer, Terry Mourer updated the Council on 0 meeting held with himself <br />and the developers of Mississippi Oaks and Heritage Landing regarding various <br />issues raised about the Western Area storm sewer. Terry Maurer explained that <br />these developers felt that unfair treatment was given to them by the City due to <br />the City's change in its storm sewer financing policy. The major concern was their <br />feeling that they were being treated unfairly in having paid 100% assessment for <br />storm sewer in their areas while Country Crossings would benefit from the change <br />in policy and only pay a storm sewer impact fee. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Council member Scheel expressed her concern that developers are not always <br />aware of all that is required by the City. She requested that the City do <br />everything possible to help the developers understand what is expected by the <br />City. <br /> <br />6.2. <br /> <br />Update on the City and MnDOT Hiahway 169 and Hiahway 10 corridor studies <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer updated the Council on the T.H. lO/T.H. 169 corridor <br />study being conducted jointly by MnDOT and the City of EI River. He indicated <br />that the study will cost the City approximately $17,000 to $25,000. <br /> <br />6.3. Update on Main Street/Trunk Hiahway 10 intersection options <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer provided a handout to the Council showing three <br />preliminary designs for an improved intersection at Highway 10 and Main Street. <br />The Council discussed the three options. Terry Maurer indicated that these are <br />not necessarily the only options available, but just something to get the staff and <br />Council thinking about options for improving the intersection. The Council took <br />no action on this issue. Councilmember Holmgren suggested that the City <br />Engineer also review the intersection of Railroad Drive and Main Street. <br /> <br />6.4a. <br /> <br />School/City 9/20/94 staff meetina reaardinq traffic issues on School Street and <br />status of Jackson A venue proiect <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer updated the Council on the meeting held with the <br />School District Superintendent, himself and the Police Chief regarding traffic.
