Consider City initiated rezoninq and comprehensive land use plan chanqe for a <br />portion of Orono Park <br /> <br />The City Administrator explained that a majority of Orono Park is zoned residential, <br />however, a small portion in the northwest corner is zoned R4 (multi-family <br />residential). He indicated that staff is requesting the Council to consider rezoning <br />the R4 zone to be consistent with the zoning of the remainder of Orono Park. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the land designation terms of "P" for "Parks" or <br />"OS" for "Open Space." It was the consensus of the Council to request the City <br />Planner to further research the use of these terms to determine which would be <br />more appropriate. This will be reviewed during the Comprehensive Plan update <br />later in the year. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO INITIATE THE REZONING PROCESS FOR A <br />PORTION OF ORONO PARK FROM R-4 TO R-1C. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />7.6. <br /> <br />Consider request for certificate of correction for plat of Hillside Estates First <br />Addition <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN MOVED TO APPROVE THE CERTIFICATE OF <br />CORRECTION TO THE PLAT OF U1LLSIDE ESTATES. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />7.7. <br /> <br />Consider SCORE request <br /> <br />The City Administrator explained that Sherburne County has received <br />approximately $90,000 of SCORE Funds to be distributed to public and private <br />organizations for the purpose of waste reduction, recycling, and yard waste <br />composting projects. He indicated that Planning Assistant Gary Schmitz is <br />working on a proposal which requests funding for a variety of programs as <br />outlined in his memo. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PLANNING ASSISTANT TO <br />SUBMIT THE PROPOSAL TO THE COUNTY FOR USE OF SCORE FUNDS. <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />8. Other Business <br /> <br />There was no other business. <br /> <br />9. Staff Updates <br /> <br />The City Administrator indicated that the Park and Recreation Commission has <br />requested a joint meeting with the City Council. It was the consensus of the <br />Council to meet on April 25 with the Park and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The City Administrator informed the Council that Phil Hals will be resubmitting the <br />ISTEA Grant for improvements to the railroad trail. <br />
