<br />Elk River City Council Minutes <br />December 4, 1995 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />5.3. <br /> <br />Consider Authorization to Purchase Personal Computers for the Police <br />Department <br /> <br />Chief of Police Tom Zerwas indicated that he has received quotes for the <br />purchase of two personal computers, monitors, printers, and all software. He <br />indicated the best price was from AmeriData at $5,664. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF TWO PERSONAL <br />COMPUTERS, MONITORS, PRINTERS, AND SOFTWARE FROM AMERIDATA AT $5,664 <br />AND IF THERE ARE INSUFFICIENT FUNDS IN THE POLICE BUDGET TO COVER THE COST <br />OF THE COMPUTER, THAT THE BALANCE BE TAKEN FROM THE COUNCIL <br />CONTINGENCY FUND. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />5.5. <br /> <br />Consider Ordinance Amendment to Include Corruaated Cardboard to the <br />Curbside Recvclina Proaram <br />Consider Refuse Houler Contract for the Addition of Corruaated Cardboard to <br />the Curbside Recvclina Proaram <br /> <br />5.6. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Zoning Assistant Kendra Lindahl indicated that staff is proposing to add <br />corrugated cardboard to the curbside recycling program. She stated that the <br />refuse haulers and staff have agreed that there will be no rate increase for the <br />addition of cardboard to the recycling program. She also indicated that the <br />recycling vehicles must be modified in order to handle the addition of <br />cardboard, and that city staff has agreed to reimburse the haulers for the cost <br />of the truck modifications up to $1,600. Kendra Lindahl indicated that the city <br />has proposed to reimburse the haulers through SCORE Funds which it has <br />received. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 95-28, AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 602, REFUSE AND GARBAGE, PERTAINING TO CORRUGATED <br />CARDBOARD, AND TO AMEND fHE REFUSE HAULERS CONTRACT TO INCLUDE THE <br />ADDITION OF CORRUGATED CARDBOARD TO THE CURBSIDE RECYCLING <br />PROGRAM. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />5.7. School Consensus Committee <br /> <br />The City Clerk informed the Council that Bob Minton, who currently serves on the <br />Planning Commission and was Chair of the Steering Committee for the <br />Comprehensive Plan, has agreed to accept appointment to the School <br />Consensus Committee. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO APPOINT BOB MINTON TO THE SCHOOL <br />CONSENSUS COMMITTEE. COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-0. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Kathy Specht. 16330 Highway 10, questioned why Mayor Duitsman and <br />Councilmember Holmgren were not present at the Council meeting. She further <br />commented on the appointment of Bob Minton to the School Consensus <br />
