TO INCORPORATE JOHN OLIVER'S COMMENTS INTO THE ORDINANCE. <br /> <br />4. THE SECTION PERTAINING TO THE ESCROW REQUIREMENT FOR TREES BE <br />REVISED BY THE CITY ATTORNEY AND RESUBMITTED FOR COUNCIL <br />CONSIDERATION. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. <br />Council member Scheel opposed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz indicated that the Park and Recreation Commission has <br />looked at a trail system and stated that he did not feel that the city's trail system <br />should be done in a piecemeal fashion. He felt it would be appropriate to l1'ave <br />the developer put the trails in as part of the plat and that the developer be <br />credited on the park dedication for the trails. <br /> <br />7.5. <br /> <br />Consider Initiatina Land Use Plan Amendment Rezonina, and Plat for City <br />Prooertv <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />City Planner Steve Ach stated that the city currently owns property located at the <br />northwest corner of 193rd Avenue and Highway 169. He indicated that the <br />current zoning of the property is R 1 c, Single Family with a land use designation of <br />MR, Medium Density Residential. Steve Ach indicated that the Steering <br />Committee has recommended that commercial development continue north on <br />Highway 169 to the 194th Avenue alignment which would include the city owned <br />property on the west side of Highway 169. He indicated that in order to prepare <br />the city owned property for commercial development purposes, the property <br />should have its land use designation changed to Highway Commercial. rezoned <br />to Commercial, and platted to reflect the appropriate easements and right-of- <br />ways. These actioris would place the property in a saleable condition. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO INITIATE A LAND USE PLAN AMENDMENT, <br />REZONING, AND PRELIMINARY PLAT APPLICATION FOR THE CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF 193RD AVENUE AND HIGHWAY 169. <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-1. <br />Councilmember Scheel opposed. <br /> <br />CouncilmemberScheel indicated that she feels that becauSe the city owns this <br />property an exception is being made which would not be made for private <br />property owners. <br /> <br />7.3a. Enaineerina Update Items <br /> <br />· CounciJmember Dietz questioned the engineer regarding the turn lanes on <br />Jackson A venue and Highway 1 69 <br /> <br />· Council member Dietz indicated that he received a complaint regarding salt <br />damage to trees on Mr. Heasley's property located on School Street. <br /> <br />e <br />
