COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5~0. <br /> <br />5.10. Leaislative Uodates <br /> <br />City Administrator Pot Klaers updated the City Council on several legislative issues. <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman informed the City Council that the ditch legislation has been <br />passed by the House and Senate. <br /> <br />5.11. Consider Purchase of Administration Vehicle <br /> <br />The City Clerk indicated that after receiving Council authorization to purchase a <br />vehicle for city stott employees, Gary Schmitz requested quotes for 0 vehicle trom <br />three local dealerships. She stated that quotes were requested on both a new <br />and a used vehicle. The City Clerk informed the Council that the low quote tor <br />the new vehicle was from Miller Chevrolet for 0 1995 Chevy Corsica in the <br />amount of $14,196. The low quote for a used vehicle was submitted by Saxon <br />Motors for 0 1994 Chevy Corsica with 20.700 mi.les in the amount of $10.427.50. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ MOVED TO PURCHASE THE USED 1994 CHEVY CORSICA <br />fROM SAXON MOTORS AT $10,427.50. COUNCILMEMBER fARBER SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4~ 1. Councilmember Holmgren opposed. <br /> <br />e Councilmember Holmgren indicated that he voted against the motion because <br />he felt the city would be better served with a new vehicle. <br /> <br />5.12. Uodate on Aoolication Process for Secretarv/Receotionist <br /> <br />The City Clerk informed the City Council that she has received 55 applications for <br />the Secretory/Receptionist position vacated by Kristy Mansfield. She indicated <br />that she would be offering 0 recommendation for hire to the City Council on <br />Monday, May 22. <br /> <br />8. Other Business <br /> <br />Mayor Duitsman indicated that he hod been contacted by 0 member from the <br />Gorden Club with 0 request to plant flowers on city property. Councilmember <br />Dietz suggested putting in tennis courts on the city property. Dove Anderson. Park <br />and Recreation Commission Chair. indicated that he has requested the Garden <br />Club to make a presentation to the Pork and Recreation Commission. Discussion <br />was held by the Council regarding the possibility of both flowers and tennis courts <br />being located on city property. <br /> <br />6.1. <br /> <br />Wastewater Treatment System 1994 Annual Reoort <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Darrell Mock. WWTS Superintendent. presented the 1994 Wastewater Treatment <br />System Annual Report. Much discussion was held by the Council regarding the <br />life of the sludge land and the possibility of using some of the sludge land for <br />recreational fields. <br />
