<br />Elk River City Council Minutes <br />April 17, 1995 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />8.1 <br /> <br />Fire And Ambulance Department Annual Report <br /> <br />Fire Chief, Bruce West, presented the 1994 Fire Deportment Annual Report. <br />Ambulance Coordinator, Steve Dittbenner presented the 1994 Ambulance <br />Report. It was the consensus of the Council to accept both the Fire Department <br />and Ambulance Annual Report. <br /> <br />8.2 Utilities Commission Update <br /> <br />Council member Dietz informed the Council that at the last Utilities Commission <br />meeting, the Utilities discussed the fire hydrant and water line issue by the new ice <br />arena. He stated that the Utilities agreed to install the piping necessary to make <br />the loop and connection to the north but requested the City to obtain <br />easements from' the property owners. He further indicated that the Utilities <br />Commission voted to wave the Wac fees for the new ice arena. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz indicated that he would be discussing the unsightliness of <br />the new utility poles which have been erected over the lake Orono bridge. <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber requested Councilmember Dietz to inform the Utilities <br />Commission of the need for lighting along Jackson Avenue. <br /> <br />8.3 <br /> <br />Community Recreation Board Update <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Holmgren updated the Council on the last Community <br />Recreation Board meeting held in April. He indicated that the Community <br />Recreation Board has designed a new logo. He further stated that the <br />Community Recreation is in the process of getting registrations for summer <br />programs and further that they are advertising for an assistant position. <br /> <br />8.4 <br /> <br />Review April 18 Aqenda Topics <br /> <br />The City Council reviewed the agenda topics that would be discussed for the <br />April 18 Joint City Council/Sherburne County Board meeting. <br /> <br />8.5 Leqislative Updates <br /> <br />The City Administrator updated the Council on the status at legislation regarding <br />the potential freeze of property taxes and tax increment financing. <br /> <br />8.6 City Council Meetin<;:l Schedule <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER SCHEEL MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL FOR TUESDAY. APRIL 25. 1995. AT 5:00 P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />DISCUSSING GENERAL COUNCIL BUSINESS AND CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS. AND <br />FURTHER TO CANCEL THE APRIL 24. 1995. CITY COUNCIL MEETING. <br />COUNCILMEMBER HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />.olIIIIl <br />
