<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />No Retaliation <br /> <br />Retaliation against any individual for making a complaint under this policy, for opposing <br />harassment, or for participating in an investigation of any claim regarding harassment or <br />inappropriate behavior is strictly prohibited. <br /> <br />If you feel that you have experienced such retaliation, you should follow the Reporting Procedure <br />outlined above. <br /> <br />Questions About Policy <br /> <br />Any questions about this policy or a related matter, should be referred to the City Administrator <br />or Finance Director. <br /> <br />WORKPLACE VIOLENCE <br /> <br />The City of Elk River seeks to provide a safe and secure workplace environment for employees, <br />volunteers, vendors, and citizens. Violence, or the threat of violence, has no place on City <br />prennses. <br /> <br />The City is committed to preventing the potential for violence in and around the workplace and to <br />fostering a work environment of respect and positive conflict resolution. <br /> <br />Many City employees may be exposed to violence by the nature of their jobs. Violence or the <br />threat of violence by or against any City employee or other person while on City premises is <br />strictly prohibited and may subject the individual to serious disciplinary action and/or criminal <br />charges. <br /> <br />Possession, use, or threat of use of an object that could be considered a dangerous weapon, <br />including all firearms, is prohibited on City premises, including City vehicles, unless such <br />possession or use is an approved requirement of the City job. <br /> <br />The City strives to provide a workplace environment in which all its officials and employees treat <br />each other, their customers, clients, and all others with courtesy, dignity, and respect. <br /> <br />DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY <br /> <br />Because the City has contracts with the federal governmental agencies, it is subject to the Drug- <br />Free Workplace Act. The Act places certain requirements on employers regarding maintaining a <br />drug-free workplace. According to the Act the City is required to give all employees the <br />following notification: <br /> <br />The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of any <br />controlled substance is prohibited on City property.
