Interview Coordination! <br />Employment Negotiation <br /> <br />~ Springsted <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />Background checks, if requested by the City, will be conducted and will <br />include criminal, credit and credential verification. Personal and professional <br />reference checks from professional associates and others, as appropriate, will <br />be performed. The semi-finalists will be requested to submit references. <br />These references will be contacted, but Springsted will also conduct inquiries <br />from independent sources. <br /> <br />The consulting team will carefully check the background of each semi- <br />finalist. To date, no candidate recommended by Springsted has been <br />the subject of a criminal or ethics violation investigation. <br /> <br />A report covering all applicants will be prepared and Springsted will <br />recommend, with written justification, the four to seven candidates who most <br />nearly meet the Mayor and City Council's specifications. As part of the final <br />report, Springsted will also prepare for the Mayor and Council's review, a list of <br />questions that relate to City's current issues and submit them to the finalists for <br />written response. These responses will be included in the final report and will <br />provide the Mayor and Council with an opportunity to evaluate the candidates <br />writing abilities, analytical skills, problem solving and research abilities. <br /> <br />A personal interview will be conducted with each finalist and detailed <br />background and reference checks will be conducted. Springsted will speak <br />directly with individuals who are, or have been, in positions to evaluate each <br />candidate's performance on the job. The report submitted to the Mayor and City <br />Council will include a professional profile of each candidate's qualifications, <br />an assessment of his/her background, candidate biographies and references. The <br />consultants will meet with the Mayor and City Council to present and discuss <br />the recommendations, provide background information and assist in determining <br />those candidates who are best qualified for consideration for appointment to <br />the position of Community Development Director. <br /> <br />Springsted will assist the Mayor and City Council in designing the <br />interview and selection process. Interview procedures will be recommended <br />and sample interview questions developed. The consultant will coordinate <br />the scheduling of finalists for interviews and will attend and participate in <br />the interviews, if requested. <br /> <br />When the Mayor and City Council have identified the most desirable <br />candidate, Springsted will assist in negotiating final employment parameters, <br />benefits and salary, if requested. <br /> <br />When a final offer has been made and accepted by the successful candidate, <br />Springsted will notify all other applicants by personal letter of the Mayor and <br />City Council's action. <br /> <br />City of Elk River, Minnesota.
