APPENDIX ENERGY CITY COMMISSION
INTERVIEWS
Allison: In this sense, do you see that the Energy City Commission has a role to educate
residents?
I'd like for them to. I don't know if it is their responsibility.Yet,when they make their choices for
direction, I feel this is the information I can provide.
Allison: When you think of Energy City, what does that mean to you, in terms of Elk River's
designation?
The designation tells me that Elk River is trying to be a leader in alternative energy. I think that
they want to be known as a driver for renewable energy in the region.
Allison: Does that align with what you want Energy City to mean and represent?
Yes, I think it fits well.
Allison: Do you see Energy City as a brand or a nickname?
I would see it more as a brand and an image.
Allison: Do you think the residents see Energy City as a brand?
That's a little bit tougher for me to answer. I don't live in the city. I work in the city. I don't know
if I would be able to answer that effectively.
Allison: No problem, the City of Elk River is also known as Powered by Nature, how do you
see this relationship?
I see them working more together. They go hand in hand. I guess I have always had opinions
about solar in MN,but it's probably not my first choice for renewable energy up here.Yet, I think
it shows that Elk River is trying to make a difference by putting some items out for residents to
enjoy...their solar picnic table... etc
0
Page 70 UNIVERSITY of ST.THOMAS
EfV-ERGYCITY
Opus College of Business
