APPENDIX ENERGY CITY COMMISSION
INTERVIEWS
Allison: As far as Energy City, how well do you feel that is it promoted to the City of Elk
River and its residents?
I think it's probably promoted as well as it could be. Elk River is not necessarily the biggest city
out there. Everything comes as a cost. I don't know if they could justify a big campaign to educate
the city's population on anything.
Allison:As far as promoting Energy City's brand, whose role is that?
I don't think it's the Energy City Commission's role. The Commission maybe making a
recommendation to the City Council.
Allison:As far as the Commission or the Council, are there any methods for promotion that
are working well or that are not working as well?
I don't have a good feel for that. I don't know.
Allison: Lastly, where do you see the future of Energy City and its continuation?
I would hope that they would be able to continue it. It would be nice if they could promote some
City-type projects that they might be able to get some grant money for to keep the renewable
side of the production. And educating the City's inhabitants on different ways they could save
energy and their money. Ultimately, someone needs to put the effort to make sure that
information is known.
Allison: This was great and these were the main questions that we had for you. We really
appreciate you taking the time to discuss Energy City with us, as we are trying to get a
better feel for Energy City and how it could be promoted better and future opportunities.
Again,we really appreciate your perspective.
Commission Member: No problem,it was good talking to you.
0
Page 71 UNIVERSITY of ST.THOMAS
EfV-ERGYCITY
Opus College of Business
