Safety Camp (Park & Recreation) <br />Police department participates in this annual event, conducting K-9 <br />demonstrations, bike safety classes and other youth safety topics. Event held <br />once a year. <br />K-9 Demonstrations <br />Department's canine officer and his partner have done numerous presentations <br />at public events. Presentations include an overview of the unit and <br />demonstrations of the canine's abilities. <br />E.R.P.D. Honor Guard Presentations <br />The department's honor guard unit has participated in a wide variety of <br />community events including local parades, graduation ceremonies and national <br />holidays such as Independence Day and Veteran's Day. <br />Child I.D. Program <br />A program where Elk River Reserve Officers meet with parents and their children, <br />and collect information that would be valuable to L.E. if I child were to be <br />abducted or lost. Information is then placed onto a jump drive and given to the <br />parents for safe -keeping. <br />Committees / Coalitions <br />The police department has officers who serve on the following committees that <br />are comprises of members from both government agencies and the public sector. <br />• Sherburne County Substance Use Prevention Coalition <br />• Sherburne County Safe Child Council <br />• Families First Sherburne County <br />• Project Lifesaver <br />
