<br />A new transit hub in Columbia Heights has recently been approved at the southeast corner of 41 sl . <br />Street and Central Avenue (TH 65). The project is a collaborative effort between Anoka County <br />and Metro Transit and is expected to be complete by the end of 1999. The final design is still in <br />progress however the facility is expected to consist of four off-street and two on-street bus stalls. <br /> <br />Park-and-Ride Facilities <br /> <br />Metro Transit provides park-and-ride facilities in the TH 10/47 corridor in Anoka County at the <br />following locations: <br /> <br />. Anoka - TH 10/169 <br />. Anoka - Church Street / Forest Avenue <br />. Anoka - 7th Avenue / Garfield Street <br />. Coon Rapids - Riverdale Cub Foods - 12800 Round Lake Boulevard <br />. Coon Rapids - TH 10 / Hanson Boulevard <br />. Coon Rapids - Zilla Street / 98th Lane NW <br />. Coon Rapids - Hanson Boulevard / 1 05th Avenue NW <br />. Coon Rapids - Hanson Boulevard at 111 th Avenue NW <br />. Coon Rapids - Hanson Boulevard / Northdale Boulevard <br />. Coon Rapids - Crooked Lake Boulevard / Coon Rapids Boulevard <br />. Coon Rapids - Foley Park and Ride - Adjacent to TH 610 and Foley Boulevard <br />. Fridley - 6180 Highway 65 NE <br />. Fridley - Holiday Village Shopping Center - 250 57th Avenue NE <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Currently, the park-and-ride facility in Anoka at ih Avenue and Garfield Street is full. The lot <br />has a capacity of 80 vehicles and approximately 110 vehicles are attempting to use the facility on <br />a daily basis. An expansion of the lot has been discussed however no plans have been approved <br />at this time. <br /> <br />The Northtown Transit Hub also serves as a park-and-ride facility with a total capacity of 380 <br />vehicles. On average, approximately 175 vehicles utilize the lot, however due to construction at <br />the Foley park-and-ride facility the lot is currently at capacity. <br /> <br />The Foley Park-and-Ride in Coon Rapids has been extremely successful and is currently <br />undergoing expansion. The existing facility is designed to accommodate 600 vehicles; a new <br />ramp is being constructed to increase capacity to over 1,200 spaces.
