<br />.. <br /> <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />HEALTHY COMMUNITIES PARTNERSIDP PROGRAM <br /> <br />PURPOSE: The Healthy Communities Partnership Program provides integrated <br />community development training, grant support, and technical assistance to strengthen <br />the leadership capacity of communities to plan effectively for the future. The program <br />helps communities to integrate all aspects of community life into the planning process, <br />resulting in a healthier, sustainable community which achieves economic vitality, the <br />protection of natural resources, and the well-being of all citizens, through active civic <br />participation. <br /> <br />TRAINING: Over the first year of the Program, the community team will participate in <br />six training sessions. The sessions are described below: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. Preparation, bringing the group together planning principles, what is a healthy <br />community, and building a team. <br />. Community Building, ensuring diversity, working with different styles, leadership <br />skills, and running effective meetings, and identifying existing efforts. <br />. Visioning, imaging the future, writing mission and goals, determining indicators, and <br />identifying tasks. <br />. Assessment, examining current and projected trends, identifying assets of <br />individuals, organi7ations, and institutions. <br />. Planning and Implementation, including identifying objectives, strategies and <br />activities, getting funding, completing projects, evaluating success, organizing and <br />coordinating, setting priorities, and building consensus. <br />. Sustaining, sharing information, celebrating success, and re-evaluating next steps. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />
