<br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />January 18, 2005 <br /> <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER FARBER AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 05-08 CALLING FOR <br />A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSAL FOR A PRIVATE SCHOOL FACILITY <br />PROJECT PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA LAW, AND AUTHORIZING <br />PREPARATION AND PUBLICATION OF A NOTICE OF THE HEARING. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.2. Consider Authorization to Advertise for Bids for Construction of Westbound Liquor Store <br /> <br />Ms. Johnson discussed the proposed Advertisement for Bids list for the construction of <br />Westbound Liquor, as outlined in her staff report. She provided a general timeline of the <br />construction project. Ms. Johnson requested there be up to a three week flexibility (from the <br />proposed construction project timeline schedule) for staff in setting the actual bid and award <br />dates. <br /> <br />Liquor Store Manager Dave Potvin was available for any questions. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO AUTHORIZE THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR <br />BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF WESTBOUND LIQUOR WITH THE <br />BID DATES YET TO BE DETERMINED BY STAFF. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.3. Consider Library Board Appointment <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing and Councilmember Dietz recommended the reappointment of Leslie <br />Anderson. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO APPOINT LESLIE ANDERSON TO THE <br />LIBRARY BOARD WITH A TERM TO EXPIRE DECEMBER 31, 2007. MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />6.4. Consider Board/Commission Appointments for Terms Expiring February 28.2005 <br /> <br />Lori Johnson discussed the terms of Boards and Commissions that were expiring February <br />28, 2005, and the need to appoint members to fill these positions. She stated that all <br />members have applied for reappointment and that new applicants have applied for some of <br />the same positions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber stated he would like to interview all candidates. He stated if the <br />Council keeps reappointing the same applicants then new applicants would be discouraged <br />from applying for these positions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Gumphrey stated he would like to interview candidates for the Boards and <br />Commissions. <br /> <br />Councilmember Motin concurred with Councilmember Gumphrey but stated it is good to <br />also have experienced applicants on the Boards/Commissions. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN TO APPOINT THE FOLLOWING BOARD AND <br />COMMISSION POSITIONS: <br />
