<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />City Council Minutes <br />December 18, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />4.8. <br /> <br />Consider 2000 Budaet Amendments <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson reviewed the 2000 Budget Amendments. <br /> <br />CQUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ApPROVE THE 2000 BUDGET AMENDMENTS AS <br />PRESENTED INC.LUDING THE NECESSARY FUNDS TO COVER THE ANTICIPATED ICE ARENA <br />DEFICIT. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.9. Discuss Liauor Leaislation <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers reviewed the status of the city's on-sale liquor licenses. He <br />indicated that Senator Ourada has provided draft legislation to increase the number of <br />on-sale licenses for the city from 12 to 18 and that Representative Anderson has <br />requested additional documentation and support. Pat Klaers stated the Chamber Board <br />has submitted a resolution of support endorsing legislation to increase the number of <br />liquor licenses to 18. The city administrator explained that the law restricts the number of <br />on-sale liquor licenses a city may have according to population. He noted that the <br />because the population is determined by the federal census, the city would not be able <br />to increase its number of licenses until the next federal census in 2010. The city <br />administrator presented the council with a resolution in support of legislation increasing <br />the number of on-sale licenses. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-111 SUPPORTING ADDITIONAL <br />ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSES. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br />CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.10. Consider Aooointment of EDA Members <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing recommended reappointment of Larry Koenig to the EDA. She also <br />recommended that council-elect members Dan Tveite and Louise Kuester be appointed <br />to the EDA. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED THE FOLLOWING EDA APPOINTMENTS: <br /> <br />. LARRY KOENIG; TERM TO RUN 1/1/2001 TO 12131/2006 <br />. DAN TVEITE; TERM TO RUN 111/2001 TO 12/31/2004 <br />. LOUISE KUESTER; TERM TO RUN 111/2001 TO 12/31/2004 <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.11. Consider Aooointment of HRA Member <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing recommended that Stewart Wilson be reappointed to the HRA for another <br />term. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER FARBER MOVED THAT STEWART WILSON BE REAPPOINTED TO THE HRA FOR <br />ANOTHER TERM TO RUN FROM 111/01 TO 12/31/05. COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />4.12. Consider Personnel Committee Recommendations <br /> <br />Finance Director Lori Johnson indicated that the Personnel Committee has completed its <br />review of the planning, building and zoning, liquor store manager and assistant <br />
