Request by Bishop Geor:ge H Speltz Middle School for a Omditional Use Permit to <br />Operate a Catholic School. Public Hearing-Case No. CD 04-36 <br /> <br />Senior Planner Scott Harlicker submitted the staff report. Mr. Harlicker stated the applicant <br />is requesting a Conditional Use Permit to operate a middle school. He discussed the site, <br />hours of operation and the Planning Commission's recommendation. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. There being no one to speak to this issue, Mayor <br />Klinzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing questioned if the school is utilizing St. Andrews Church and how safe it is <br />for the kids to walk to it. <br /> <br />Jennifer Grammond, Principal-Stated the kids are supervised as they walk to the church <br />for gym and lunch. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNOLMEMBER DIETZ AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNCILMEMBER KUESTER TO APPROVE A CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT TO OPERATE A MIDDLE SCHOOL. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />5.8. Consider Resolution Ordering Preparation of Plans and Specifications fonhe WWIP <br />Headworks Improvement Update on the 2005 Street Improvement Proiect <br /> <br />Staff report submitted byGty Engineer Terry Maurer. Mr. Maurer stated a technical memo <br />has been prepared recommending that new headworks equipment be installed to provide the <br />WWIP with the capacity to accept up to 3.5 million gallons of effluent per day. Mr. Maurer <br />stated the memo estimates the construction to cost approximately $1,132,000. He stated <br />engineering costs would be approximately $148,000. <br /> <br />MOVED BY COUNOLMEMBER TVEITE AND SECONDED BY <br />COUNOLMEMBER DIETZ TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 04-103 ORDERING <br />THE PREPARATION OF PLANS AND SPEOFICATIONS IN THE MATTER <br />OF THE WWTP HEADWORKS IMPROVEMENT OF 2004. MOTION CARRIED <br />5.0. <br /> <br />5.9. Update on the 2005 Street Improvement Proiect <br /> <br />Staff report submitted by Gty Engineer Terry Maurer. Mr. Maurer stated he has been <br />working on the 2005 street improvement project (pavement Management or Rehabilitation <br />Program). He discussed the following issues: <br /> <br />· The streets to be improved <br />· Areas to be assessed <br />· Amount to be assessed <br />· Oosing street accesses to Highway 10 <br />· Width of streets after reconstruction <br />· Whether sidewalks should be installed <br /> <br />Mr. Maurer stated the amount to be assessed would be $6,000 per residential unit based on <br />the total cost of the project with the city paying for two-thirds and the residents paying for <br />
