Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 3 <br /> August 10,2016 <br /> Chair Anderson stated that part of the parking lot will be for the Community Center <br /> and will come out of that budget also expressing that interest to build out Orono <br /> Park, cut out the trail work, splash pad, and Hillside Park and do as much as we can <br /> at YAC. <br /> Commissioner Kallemeyn stated he liked all the amenities and to cut the restrooms. <br /> Commissioner Holmgren expressed that there is a need for the restrooms in the <br /> parks and to keep all the lights. <br /> Commissioner Nystrom stated that the trails on the east side of town are important <br /> but without a plan to they should be removed from the list also stating that the <br /> restrooms, skate park and pickle ball court should be kept in the budget. Expressing <br /> that those items would get the most support. <br /> Chair Anderson stated that with the current condition of Orono Park there needs to <br /> be a plan to figure out costs to figure out what will sell. In favor of finishing Orono <br /> Park so we have a signature park completed and add one restroom at YAC. <br /> Mr. Sevcik stated that Orono Park can be built for multi-generational uses. <br /> Chair Anderson asked what can be taken out of Orono Park to put a restroom in at <br /> YAC. <br /> Mr. Sevcik suggested taking the trails out of the plan to cover the cost of doing a <br /> restroom at YAC. <br /> Commissioner Kallemeyn asked how the Hillside park work will get done if the <br /> funds are diverted to other projects. <br /> Mr. Hecker stated that there are grants to pursue and Park Dedication Fund could be <br /> used for Hillside Park. <br /> The commissioners agreed to the following$2,000,000 park priorities. <br /> $350,000-Skate Park <br /> $650,000-Splash Pad <br /> $400,000-Parking Lot <br /> $250,000-Orono Restroom <br /> $250,000-YAC Restroom <br /> $100,000-Hillside Trail Development <br /> Council member Wagner asked how much the yearly maintenance cost are of the <br /> 110-011111111 BY <br /> INATURE <br />
