Parks&Recreation Commission Minutes Page 4 <br /> August 10,2016 <br /> proposed splash pad. <br /> Mr. Sevcik explained that he doesn't know without knowing the features of the park <br /> but the current downtown splash pad costs $700 a year. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Kallemeyn and seconded by Commissioner Sagan <br /> to approve the priority capital projects in the amount of$2,000,000 to the City <br /> Council. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> 6.3 Downtown Rivers Edge Commons Park Dock <br /> Mr. Sevcik presented his staff report. <br /> Commissioner Sagan stated he was worried about the dock with the speed of the <br /> water and it should be ADA compliant. <br /> Mr. Hecker shared that the park adopted by the City Council included a dock.The <br /> commission did not support a dock in the concept plan submitted to the City <br /> Council. <br /> Chair Anderson shared that he had met with Annie and Fred and they had shared <br /> with him they knew they needed to do more homework and that it wouldn't get <br /> done by October 31. Asking if the dock could be done safely why not add it later? <br /> Commissioner Holmgren expressed from a sense of doing the project right then it <br /> should be done by the standards. It is the right thing to do. <br /> Commissioner Nystrom stated that meeting the ADA standards should be required. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner Nystrom to <br /> recommend approval to City Council to recommend building a dock or <br /> fishing pier structure to meet ADA standards. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> The commission agreed to encourage the downtown group to continue with the <br /> research regarding building a dock for the downtown park. <br /> 6.4 Park Dedication — Miske Meadows <br /> Mr. Leeseberg presented his staff report. <br /> Moved by Commissioner Sagan and seconded by Commissioner Holmgren to <br /> recommend to the City Council to accept park dedication in the form of 4.70 <br /> acres of land and shall be similar to the July 13,2016 Parks and Recreation <br /> roIEAE ® ® r <br /> tNATUREI <br />
