MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 5.12. Set Worksession Agenda City Administrator Pat Klaers reviewed the draft September 13, 2004 City Council worksession agenda. :rvrr. Klaers stated that another item regarding discussion of the October 11 goal setting worksession with boards/commissions may need to be added to the agenda. Councilmember Kuester stated that the joint goal setting meeting between the Council and the boards/ commissions is very important and questioned if there is ample time to plan the meetlng. Mr. Klaers indicated that staff has met to discuss what could be discussed at the goal setting meeting but that staff really needs to hear from Council on September 13 as to their ideas for the October 11 goal setting meeting. Acting Mayor Motin questioned if all groups would be meeting at once or if the meetings would be individual. Mr. Klaers stated that the meeting will include the Council, all eight boards/ commissions, and staff. He stated that the meeting will be at Lions Park Center. Councilmember Kuester questioned if information regarding the boards/ commissions ideas and goals will be solicited prior to the joint meeting. Mr. Klaers stated that each staff liaison will be talking to their board/ commission. He stated that the plan is that each board/ commission will be choosing two or three of their goals and each will be presented and discussed at the meeting. 7. Other Business Councilmember Dietz indicated that concerns have been raised regarding cars traveling down Mississippi Road not stopping for the stop sign at Mississippi and Joplio. He questioned if flashing lights or a larger stop sign can be put up. City Engineer Terry Maurer indicated that IYfississippi is a County road but that staff could explain the situation to the County and see how they want the city to proceed. He noted that the city can order a larger stop signs if the County desires. The meeting of the City Council recessed to Uppertown Conference Room at 8:30 p.m. for a budget worksession. The meeting of the City Council reconvened at 8:40 p.m. 6. Budget Worksession City Administrator Pat I<J.aers stated that the city received information that the city's Net Tax Capacity (NTC) is increasing 16.1%. Mr. Klaers indicated that at the August 23, 2004 City Council meeting, department heads were asked to make cuts totaling $112,500. Mr. I<J.aers reviewed the cuts made by the department heads.
