Set Worksession Agenda <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat Klaers reviewed the draft September 13, 2004 City Council <br />worksession agenda. :rvrr. Klaers stated that another item regarding discussion of the <br />October 11 goal setting worksession with boards/commissions may need to be added to the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kuester stated that the joint goal setting meeting between the Council and <br />the boards/ commissions is very important and questioned if there is ample time to plan the <br />meetlng. <br /> <br />Mr. Klaers indicated that staff has met to discuss what could be discussed at the goal setting <br />meeting but that staff really needs to hear from Council on September 13 as to their ideas <br />for the October 11 goal setting meeting. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Motin questioned if all groups would be meeting at once or if the meetings <br />would be individual. Mr. Klaers stated that the meeting will include the Council, all eight <br />boards/ commissions, and staff. He stated that the meeting will be at Lions Park Center. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kuester questioned if information regarding the boards/ commissions ideas <br />and goals will be solicited prior to the joint meeting. Mr. Klaers stated that each staff liaison <br />will be talking to their board/ commission. He stated that the plan is that each <br />board/ commission will be choosing two or three of their goals and each will be presented <br />and discussed at the meeting. <br /> <br />7. Other Business <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz indicated that concerns have been raised regarding cars traveling <br />down Mississippi Road not stopping for the stop sign at Mississippi and Joplio. He <br />questioned if flashing lights or a larger stop sign can be put up. City Engineer Terry Maurer <br />indicated that IYfississippi is a County road but that staff could explain the situation to the <br />County and see how they want the city to proceed. He noted that the city can order a larger <br />stop signs if the County desires. <br /> <br />The meeting of the City Council recessed to Uppertown Conference Room at 8:30 p.m. for <br />a budget worksession. <br /> <br />The meeting of the City Council reconvened at 8:40 p.m. <br /> <br />6. Budget Worksession <br /> <br />City Administrator Pat I<J.aers stated that the city received information that the city's Net <br />Tax Capacity (NTC) is increasing 16.1%. Mr. Klaers indicated that at the August 23, 2004 <br />City Council meeting, department heads were asked to make cuts totaling $112,500. Mr. <br />I<J.aers reviewed the cuts made by the department heads. <br />
