City Council Minufes <br />August ]4, 2000 <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />5.5, <br /> <br />5,6. <br /> <br />5.6.A. <br />5.6.B, <br /> <br />There being no comments from the public, Mayor Klinzing closed the public <br />hearings. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER DIEI'Z MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-62 APPROVING SUBSIDY <br />ASSISTANCE TO EQUITY MANAGEMENT, INC. COUNClLMEMBER THOMPSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER THOMPSON MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-63 APPROVING <br />SUBSIDY ASSISTANCE TO DAVID AND CAROLE RIPPLINGER. COUNCILMEMBER DIETZ <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Northstar Corridor Development - Dave Loch <br /> <br />Michele McPherson indicated that the city has received a copy of the <br />Advanced Corridor Plan that includes station design and maintenance facility, <br />She explained that the maintenance facility is proposed to be located southeast <br />of the station and on the north side of the railroad tracks. Michele stated that the <br />city is being asked to adopt a formal resolution by October 24 that will either <br />approve or disapprove the plans and identify acceptable amendments to the <br />plan. Michele noted some of staff's concerns with this maintenance facility <br />location. <br /> <br />David Loch presented the council with history and progress of the Northstar <br />Corridor proposal to date. He reviewed the locations for the proposed train <br />station and maintenance facility, Mr. Loch encouraged the council to send a <br />letter as soon as possible to Tim Yantos and Betsy Wergin stating the city's <br />concerns regarding the maintenance facility. <br /> <br />David Loch suggested that the city look at its comprehensive plan in the <br />immediate area of the station to ensure that the station is visible, easily <br />accessible, and that pedestrian and bicycle pathways are available to the <br />station. He also requested the city to consider types of retail that would serve the <br />commuter and to consider the inclusion of higher residential density in the area. <br /> <br />Western Area IV Improvements Public Hearing and Assessment Public Hearing <br />Continuation from 8/7/00 <br /> <br />Resolution Ordering the Improvement <br />Resolution Adopting Assessment Roll <br /> <br />City Engineer Terry Maurer explained that this public hearing and assessment <br />hearing has been continued from the August 7 council meeting. He explained <br />the proposed improvements for the Western Area Phase IV project which include: <br /> · The extension of Business Center Drive to Waco Street <br /> · The realignment of Waco Street <br />· Lateral sanitary sewer, watermain and storm sewer along Business Center <br /> Drive to serve the Stewart Wilson property <br />· Trunk sanitary sewer and watermain from the Southwest corner of the <br /> Sherburne County Government Center to Waco Street <br /> <br /> <br />
