Councilmember Thompson also suggested that the city look at <br /> installing a sidewalk if the residents on Auburn Street were inferested. <br /> <br /> Councilmembers Farber and Motin agreed thaf insfalling a cul-de-sac is not the <br /> right solution at this time and suggested that city staff look at other alternatives. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Dietz stated that he couldn't suppod a cul-de-sac based on staff <br /> recommendations. <br /> <br />The council directed staff to come back with recommendations for making <br />Auburn Street a safe road and to mail notices informing residents in the area <br />when this issue would be on the council agenda for discussion again. The council <br />also directed staff to look at the alignment of Auburn Street to make sure it is <br />correct according to the plat. <br /> <br />Councilmember Thompson stepped down from the council dais for Items 5.3. - 5.6. <br /> <br />5.3, <br /> <br />Request by Riverside Development for Easement Vacation, Public Hearin.q <br />- Case No. EV 006 <br /> <br />Director of Planning Michele McPherson stated that Riverside Companies is <br />requesting the vacation of drainage and utility easements on Lot 5, Block 3, <br />Hillside Estates 4r~ Addition to allow recording of the plat, The Woods at Hillside <br />(Hillside Estates 9rn Addition. Ms. McPherson informed council that the <br />configuration of the vacant lot changed slightly due to the road design of 195th <br />Street and in order to record the plat for the 9th Addition, the easements for the <br />4"~ Addition must be vacated. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />David Badger, 19495 Auburn Street, stated that he owns the lot adjacent to the <br />subject property and he questioned how this would affect his lot. Ms. McPherson <br />stated that this would not affect Mr. Badger's property. <br /> <br />Mayor Klinzing closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCILMEMBER MOTIN MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 00-57 VACATING THE <br />DRAINAGE AND UTILITY EASEMENTS ON LOT 5, BLOCK 3, HILLSIDE ESTATES 4TM <br />ADDITION. COUNClLMEMBER FARBER SECONDED THE MOTION.
