Simil~ to <br />most major transportation projects, multiple fundlng sources are required to fund projects. <br />The Northstar Corridor [:n, uject will 1:~ optimally positioned to receive fedexaI funds if . <br />multipl, sources am pursued. <br /> <br />The Ped~al Tr~si: Administration, through a Full Funding Grant Agreement <br />proton, prioritize~ projecm based on its New Start~ Criteria. Based on the campetkivc <br />re, quirem~ats of au FFGA, the Minncapolis to Big lake segment is a likely ctmdidalo for <br />$ucc~s.s. <br /> <br />Mn/DOT is pursuing additional and all po~siblo f~al fundiag options for the Northstar <br />CorridaC for the rem~!ug portiort of thc corridor from Big Lake to Rice. These sources <br />include bur are not limited to. the Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Highway <br />Administration. other FI?A sources relating to other transit funding categories and/or sp~Afic <br />earmarks. <br /> <br />Mn/D~ haz engaged tho services of an expert coasultant to provide guidance ia leverag~g <br />~tz/O d0lllns, against federal programs tO bring the entire project to consu'ucfion. <br /> <br />Mu/DOT is commit:ed m and confident that funding for thc full length of the Northstar <br />Corridor from Minneapolis to Rice will be obtained. <br /> <br /> <br />
